Vinyl frames are made from PVC (polyvinyl chloride), making it versatile and able to be made into most window styles. Known for its cost efficiency and good insulation, Vinyl is a low maintenance option coming pre-painted and needing little attention for cleaning. Because it is made from PVC, Vinyl windows are good resistants to moisture from areas with high humidity.

Stronger than its vinyl counterpart, fiberglass frames don't chip or crack as easily. Fiberglass is able to match vinyl's energy efficiency with less frame, leading to more glass view, and lower profiles. Fiberglass won't rot or be susceptible to insects eating at the frame like wood. Coming in a variety of colors, these frames can be painted, unlike vinyl frames. 

Wood frames are highly attractive when maintained properly and installed correctly. They can be stained or painted and provide classic and elegant looks to your home. A natural insulator, wood is as good at insulating your home as vinyl or fiberglass. Regular staining and sealing is necessary in order to keep these windows in operating condition but can last a lifetime if cared for properly.

Stronger material than wood, vinyl or fiberglass these windows allow for a larger opening with a thinner frame. Some aluminum windows are not entirely aluminum but cladded, protecting the frame from damage. Aluminum windows are appealing for their metallic color but can be painted for more options. Aluminum does not perform as well in insulating but can come with higher insulated components for colder climates.
